Computer turns on but no display on monitor

At the end of the install the computer froze. The mouse wouldn’t work etc. after 15 minutes to hard shut down the computer. I now can’t get it to boot back up. I can hear the fan running after turning it on and the light indicating the power cord is plugged in is on. The screen is black and the caps lock light hasn’t come in.
