Search Proton Experimental in your library, choose it, go to the settings, choose Betas, and choose Bleeding Edge. EDIT: Apparently it got pushed to normal Experimental, but wouldn't hurt to try Bleeding Edge anyways if Experimental is giving you issues. I’ve tried that one as well, sadly no luck.

Tried the launcher from steam and It crashes (+ the download is slow since it starts and stops continuously). I tried the custom Linux based FFXIV Launcher from Discover and it doesn't even start. I downloaded it, added the code (the one you find on the online tutorials) on "Start up" and installed the FFXIV steam Launcher on the Internal memory.
