Usually it doesn’t have enough nutrients for the myc, so even if it does colonize you might get some wimpy fruits. White rice is the reason many claimed in the beginning that UBs don’t work. I’d try to get my hands on brown rice. Wild rice might be a better substitute than white if you’re rolling some dice and wanna test it for science.I was told numerous times that the Uncle Ben tek is "outdated" or "garbage" - but I don't see how the passage of time could somehow make a shroom cultivation technique stop working. Either mycellium likes brown rice or it doesn't, unless some crazy morphic resonance epigenetic anomaly occured where cubes suddenly stopped consuming rice. Very unreliable. Incredibly easy but very unreliable. You can definitely achieve success but there's too much water in many of the bags and I got a lot of sour rot.
